    Hello Hunters,

    We hope you are well. Today we're excited to introduce Patch 1.7 featuring the first ever shooting range in theHunter: Call of the Wild!

    Get a feeling for all weapons, practice your aim, investigate the ballistics in detail without using up ammunition or challenge your friends to a shoot-off to crown the best shot. The shooting range is located in Rathenfeldt, offering target distances from 50 to to 500 meters. You can find more detailed information about the shooting range here.

    We hope you enjoy the shooting range, and look forward to your feedback and shooting scores!

    This patch also features a couple of bug fixes that you have been requesting, and we aim to deliver more of those shortly. You can find the full list at the end of this post. The announced adjustments and compensation for Tents & Groundblinds are still being worked on and will be released soon. We will make a dedicated announcement about it once we’re ready.

      • Range finder crosshair is now centered
      • Game hosts now see notifications when guests fast travel
      • Fix for icons not always being removed from the map when exiting to main menu and then re-entering the game.

    • Stability
      • Fix for a crash that could happen when animals home range became disabled because of too much hunting pressure.
      • If the game fails to initialize the sound system, the game will start with no sound instead of a crash. Try changing from headphones to speakers and back if you have no sound.

    Hello Hunters,

    I'm sure we can all relate to the pain of having discovered diverse and well populated hunting grounds, only to find that they are far away from the next outpost? Until now that meant long hikes through the forests and meadows of the reserves to get to your destination. Luckily, Robert Sommer has very good connections and hence the reserve wardens Conny and Doc were able to reserve a shipment of tents and ground blinds for us. These helpful new gadgets will change the rules of hunting as you know them and are available in different color variations.

    Some of you may already know tents and ground blinds from your hunting adventures in theHunter Classic where they are highly useful items for efficient hunting trips, either alone or together with friends in multiplayer. Fast travelling, resting and re-stocking your supplies at your own or at a friend's tent can be crucial factors on extended hunting trips. Combine that with the possibility of setting up a ground blind for you and a friend, calling in your prey from a distance while remaining in perfect camouflage makes for a whole new game dynamic when it comes to hunting in theHunter: Call of the Wild.

    Hello Hunters,

    We hope you’ve had a great Easter weekend with your family and friends. Hopefully you had time for some gaming as well. And as a belated Easter gift - here is Patch 1.6!

    This week we've got some exciting fixes and new DLC in store for you (see separate post regarding the latter). As we mentioned in Patch 1.5, we pushed the 'Exit to main menu' button out a bit due to other fixes taking priority, but we're happy to announce that the option is now available in the game menu.

    In previous patches we’ve put a strong focus on the stability and overall performance optimization of the game, and we will continue to do so. With great help from our community, we have tracked down and fixed an issue that would cause the scope zeroing of the .338 and 7mm rifles to be inaccurate when fired in crouched position.

    Another issue we noticed is that the 'Death on spawn' bug was not fixed for all players after Patch 1.5 was released, as we continued to receive reports of it happening. This update should ensure that ‘Death on spawn’ is now part of history.

    Hello Hunters,

    We’re excited to release patch 1.5 today! In this update we will be addressing a number of issues such as the animal path finding maps, animals freezing and the ‘death on login’ bug a number of players were experiencing.

    The consecutive harvest bonus now carries over in single player games and we aim for the same in multiplayer, but it will require some more work before being released.

    Our focus on improving stability continues with additional crash fixes as well as graphics optimizations that include changes to in-game graphics such as shadows and shaders.

    We are aware that some of you are really keen on having the ‘Exit to main menu’ button in-game but we’ve decided to prioritize game stability and bug fixing for now. However, since it’s been discussed in the forum, we wanted to let you know that it is indeed not forgotten, and we plan on including this into the game as soon as it is finalized.

    Also, a special thank you goes out to player ‘Valkenswaard’ who has set up and maintains the bug report thread on the Steam board. This is a valuable source of information for our developers and we check it on a daily basis.

    Finally, we have listed the changes and improvements we made in Patch 1.5 in the sections below. Let us know what you think about it in the comments for the announcement and the discussions thread in the forum - we're looking forward to your feedback.


    • Gameplay:
      • Improved animal path finding maps. This change will decrease the risk of animals freezing / not moving.
        This change will potentially remove some of your discovered need zones.
      • Fixed point of interest being too close to a rock which killed players
      • You will no longer see your own discovered need zones when joining another player’s game.
      • Fix for player death when starting the game
      • Spotted animals now count correctly in the “Spot 5 Animals” competition
      • Consecutive harvest bonus now carries over in single player games

    • User Interface:
      • Localization improvements including fixing cut offs, truncations and more
      • Waypoint is now consistently orange on the map and mini map and has the correct icon

    • Audio:
      • Callers now play in the correct distance when used by other players in multiplayer
      • Audio settings are now saved correctly

    • Stability & Performance:
      • Fixed memory leak in loading screen that could cause a crash.
      • Fixed issue with grass not showing on long distances when switching between Ultra and Low graphics settings
      • Performance Improvements:
      • Fixed issue overwriting scale of horizon and time for shaders
      • Removed unnecessary functions for shaders
      • Added culling for tree and vegetation shadows
      • Fixed mismatching cloud shadows
      • Optimized cloud particle effects
      • Optimized performance of vegetation shadows
      • Improved performance in scope view
      • Fixed volume fog when shadows are present
      • Minimized pixel jittering
      • Fixed mismatching shaders for shadows
      • Fix for flickering birds
      • Improved transmissions on trees
      • Optimized shader complexity for visual results

    • Miscellaneous:
      • Fixed structures that were placed in vegetation
      • Fixed various floating assets
      • Gamepad vibration is now saved correctly

    In this patch, we’re addressing additional improvements for stability and user interface.

    The issue of “ghost” clicks, which would alter menu settings (even after closing them), has now been resolved. Thank you for reporting the issue and helping us find a solution.
    The multiplayer menu has received a small update as we have added a confirmation message before starting competitions or kicking other players from your multiplayer game. We have also fixed a number of crashes.

    Rest assured that bug fixes and content releases will keep coming. They will not be impacted by the recently announced console version as this is handled by separate teams within the company. To keep improving the stability, polish and overall experience of this version is - and will continue to be - our dedicated PC team's highest priority.
